Guru Poornima Programs

Guru Poornima Celebrations were organized at Vedanta Ashram with great devotion & enthusiasm. Many devotees from different places came over to Indore, including places like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Delhi, Secunderabad & also Canada.

12th July Morning: Guru Poornima Puja:

The celebrations began with Poojya Guruji doing puja of Bhagwan Sri Adi Sankaracharya in the Satsang Hall of Ashram. Later he garlanded the photos of his Poojya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Tapovan Maharaj and Poojya Swami Dayanandaji. Then there was the Vyasa-Peetha Puja.

Thereafter Smt Shukla Magow did the Paada Puja of Poojya Guruji. The Pooja was done under the guidance of Poojya Swamini Amitanandaji. All the devotees joined together in the Archana. Thereafter Poojya Guruji blessed everyone with an inspiring pravachan.

12th Afternoon: Samashti Bhandara:

12th Evening: Pratah Smaran Stotra Pravachan

Poojya Guruji conducted three Pratah Smaran Stotra Pravachans during these two days. The first session was on 12th evening.

12th Night: Birthday Aashirwad

With the blessings of God, on the occasion of Guru Poornima was the birthday of two devotees, while the birthday of a third one was just few days away. Shukla Magowji turned 75, Tanmay Patel turned 25, while Kumud was going to be 58 soon. Poojya Guruji decided to organize a Blessings Program for all three of them. It was fun filled evening. First Sh Manohar Agarwalji presented some lovely jokes. Thereafter all the three were asked to enact the four stages of lives – childhood, youth, grown-up mature person and the old age. All three did a beautiful job and the whole experience was not only entertaining but also enlightening. Then there was the cutting of cakes, and prasad for all.

13th Morning: Meditation Class:

Poojya Guruji conducted a special Meditation class at 6.00 AM

13th Morning & Evening:

The second session of Pratah Smaran Stotram was organized from 10 AM onwards till lunch time, while the last pravachan was in the evening from 5 PM onwards.

13th Night: Guru Poornima Cultural Program: 

A special GP Cultural Program was organized in the Sankaracharya Sabhagruh from 8 PM onwards. In this program Sh Salil Date presented some lovely numbers on his flute. Then we had some lovely Bhajans by Sh Govindji, retired Principal of the Indore Music College. The whole program was sponsored by Sh Subhash & Bharti Kusumakar to commemorate their 25 years of Marriage. Lovely prasad was offered to all.

Guru Poornima Celebrations :

This year Guru Poomima will be celebrated on 12th July. As usual this year also there will be an elaborate pujan of Guru Parampara & Vyasa-Peetha by Pojya Guruji and later the Paada Puja of Poojya Guruji by some select devotee.

The programs will start from 9.00 AM onwards. After the pujan there will be a pravachan by Poojya Guruji.


From Guru Poornima onwards there will be three days Pravachan Series on Pratah Smaran Stotram by Poojya Guruji. On 12th the pravachan will be in the evening, while on 13th & 14th the pravachan will be in the morning. These pravachans also will be open to all.
