Hanuman Chalisa Satsang: Dec 2014

On 28th Dec evening the Dec’14 edition of Hanuman Chalisa Satsang was organized at the Sankaracharya Sabhagruh of the Vedanta Ashram, Indore. The cold wave was in full swing, yet a good number of devotees came over for the satsang. The group of devotees of Das-Bagichi-Bhajan-Mandal are the most commendable – regular, punctual & dedicated. They create the right ambiance for the satsang with lovely bhajans.

In his hour long pravachan Poojya Guruji continued and then concluded his discourse on the line Jai Kapish, Tihu loka ujagar.

Revealing more implication of the word Kapish, he said that kapi means monkey, and our minds are like monkeys, jumping from one branch to another, one thought to the other, and it is only when our mind have become our friend that there shall be blessed with well-being at all levels of our lives & living. Winning over the vacillations of our mind is indeed one of the greatest achievements & siddhis in life, and this is what Hanumanji epitomizes. This makes him worthy of our reverence & salutations. Jai Kapish has the flavor of Jai Manish – the master of ones mind. This not only requires being sensitive to the requirements of ones thoughts & desires, but also also have a more magnanimous identity. Mind is not our enemy but a devoted sewak, so it is not something to be suppressed but has to be intelligently & lovingly handled. It is like handling your own children or servants lovingly. If handled properly they become our beautiful instruments and thereafter there is proper tuning up & communication – for their own well-being.

Regarding having a magnanimous identity, Guruji narrated the episode wherein Ramji once asked the nature of relationship which Hanumanji had towards Ramji, and he said that from my body point of view it is my pleasure & honor to be your sewak; from the point of view of Jiva, I am a part of a whole represented by you – always connected; while from my truth point of view I am never different from you. All these identities help us to be more & more empowered & thus friendly with our own mind, however, he who knows the ultimate & absolute truth of ones Self indeed becomes the the real master of mind. This is what is revealed in the latter part of the chaupayi, wherein Goswamiji says that ‘Tihun Loka Ujagar’ – one who enlightens the three worlds. It is consciousnes alone which enlighten all the three worlds, and one who realizes his/her identity as pure consciousness is a truly enlightened person. This is in line with the teachings of Upanishads & Gita. Hanumanji is indeed a Jivanmukta, a Stitha-Pragnya, an enlightened one, a Brahma-Gyani. Such a person alone is an effortless Manish. Jai Manish, Jai Kapish.

In the end Poojya Guruji asked all the devotees to pray to Hanumanji to be a master of our minds too, for this alone is the true door for all kinds of achievements, fulfillment & success. For this everyone should do some meditation daily.

With this discourse the discussion on this chaupayi is concluded and Poojya Guruji said that from next session we shall start the reflection on the next chaupayi – which will be on the last Sunday of Jan i.e. – 25th Jan.

It was a house-full program with so many guests who could not get the seats too. There was great enthusiasm to hear the speakers on this interesting topic. The Master of the Ceremony was Ms Suman Sharma, who did a great job. The Convener of the Program Sh Satish Sharma welcomed everyone and also told everyone about the objectives of the program – which was to inspire the younger generation with noble & inspiring goals & thoughts. Hindutva needs to be presented as a magnanimous thought and that was the motivation behind the topic, which was specially appreciated by Dr Swamy also.

The first to be invited for the talk was Poojya Guruji Sri Swami Atmanandaji, who said that it is the spiritual dimension of ‘Adhyatma Gyana’ as revealed in vedic scriptures, which is the real essence of Hindutva, and this needed to be presented & magnified in a big way, because this alone inspired & also integrated the whole country and was direly needed in the whole world too. The root of social disintegration & disharmony is our own limited, insecure & fragmented self-identity. This alone is the singularly most important factor to cause of all discomfort, problems & grief. The great Acharyas of yore diagnosed this alone as the root cause of all human ills. The wise always go to the roots, while the ignorant waste their time tinkering with the superficialities. This being simply an erroneous perception can be set right just by right & valid knowledge, so no wonder all our scriptures and acharyas have been laying great stress on this dimension & knowledge, that is why our culture is called as Adhyatmic Samskriti. We need to do something fundamental & far-reaching in this regard – something which a visionary leadership alone can do. Not only the country but the whole world is suffering from this malaise, so this message of our country will help bring lasting peace all over the world. Many people come to this ancient land just looking for this knowledge. India needs to take some initiative in this field. We need to establish some nice international class Center of Adhyatmic Knowledge in the country and work to inspire one & all through this instrument.

Dr Swamy said that we need to start by first bringing the focus on to the common language, which was Sanskrit, to integrate the country – Hindutva will automatically follow later. Regarding the Interntional Peace, he said that it is the growing population of Muslims which is becoming a threat to peace all over. He presented statistics that wherever they become majority there is no place for others to survive. So we need to get together and first present a unified front, and then they automatically present a more human face.

Dr Swamy was honored & presented with a citation and the upadhi of ‘Bharat Gaurav‘ for all the great work done single-handedly by him for the country by Poojya Guruji along with all the ICF Trustees. Dr Swamy was very happy with the efforts of the Prerna Team for organizing such a program. In the end there were refreshments for all.

Hanuman Chalisa Satsang: Nov 2014

On 30th Nov evening the Nov’14 edition of Hanuman Chalisa Satsang was organized at the Sankaracharya Sabhagruh of the Vedanta Ashram, Indore. This satsang was organized when the Gita Jayanti Celebrations were in full swing in the city.

In his hour long pravachan Poojya Guruji threw light on the word Kapish, meaning the King of Monkey’s (Vanar). He said that while Hanumanji was not technically the King of Kapi’s yet his persona & aura had a very kingly & confident demeanor. The usage of this name suggests that really speaking we dont need any physical kingdom with all its resources & money to entertain such a kingly personality. His strength came from within (knowledge of his Self) rather than from outside, and this alone is the message of scriptures to live a free & liberated life. No change in situation outside can ever shake or break them. Far from depending on any kingdom – he was in fact a king-maker all the time. His guidance & service helped his friends & masters to attain the heights of worldly prosperity & pleasures, while he personally always remained free from any such dependnces or even aspirations. This is what makes him truly reverential.

Discussion on this name is to continue in the next month satsang too – which will be on 28th Dec.
