‘Birds of Indore’- Presentation

On 14th April 2018, Saturday evening, an Audio-Visual Presentation on the topic of BIRDS OF INDORE by Padma Shri Bhalu Mondheji was organized at Vedanta Ashram. Bhaluji is a well acclaimed Conservationist and Nature-Lover, who along with his NGO, the Natures Volunteers, has done pioneering work to restore & rejuvenate the Sirpur Lake of Indore.  Today Sirpur Lake has been designated as an IBA – Important Bird Area, by the BNHS. The area has around 300+ species of birds including the state bird of MP, namely, the beautiful Asian Paradise Flycatcher.

The presentation was organized in the second floor Dining Hall, and the enthusiasm was such that it was shortly fully packed. Projector and Screen were timely organized, and the program started around 8.00 PM and lasted for 90 minutes. It was a great eye-opener for many, who have been living in the city but were not aware of its avian heritage. In the end there were some Q&A too. In the end Baisakhi Dinner was organized for all – courtesy Sh Vinod Arora & family.
