Mahashivratri Vedanta Camp

On Mahashivratri day – 3rd Mar 2019, the five days MSR Vedanta Camp concluded very satisfactorily. It was a full house camp, in which campers from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Palanpur, and Lucknow participated. The subject matter of the discourses were Sadhana Panchakam and Gita Chapter-16 which were taken by Poojya Guruji Swami Atmanandaji and P. Swamini Amitanandaji resp.

A typical day of the Camp started with a Meditation Class by P. Swamini Samatanandaji. This was followed by Shiv-Puja in the Gangeshwar Mahadev Mandir and Aarti under the supervision of P. Swamini Poornanandaji. After a cup of tea everyone came to the Satsang Hall for the first session of Sadhana Panchakam by Poojya Guruji. After around 90 minutes there was a short break and then was the second session. In all there were ten pravachans on the text in which was given a birds eye-view of the entire adhyatmic journey. This is said to be the last composition by Sri Adi Sankaracharya.

In this camp we followed the 16-8 system of meals, in which we have only two meals – lunch & dinner, and then a 16 hrs of break. This system is also called Intermittent Fasting and is said to be very good for weight-reduction and diabetes-control, along with various associated problems like acidity etc. So the lunch was around 11.30 AM. Everyone took some rest after lunch, and then at 3.00 was the Tea, and a Chanting Class at 3.30 by P. Swamini Samatanandaji. She took Sadhana Panchakam for chanting and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly and learnt to chant it nicely & confidently. After a short break was the Gita Pravachans by P. Swamini Amitanandaji. She discussed the Chapter-16 in which Bhagwan talks about the Daivi and Aasuri Sampatti. Everyone enjoyed this topic also.

Then was the evening Aarti followed by dinner, which was overall light, and our day ended with lovely Bhajans and Q&A session.

On the concluding day all the delegates shared their camp experiences. It was highly gratifying to see that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Camp and look forward to next one after about six months. We share below the audio recording of the Campers Experiences below:
